2026 SPDP Online Course Registration Form

SPDP Online courses take place across a 5-week period and are facilitated by RACP Fellows. This format focuses on learning with peers through online discussion forums and allows for time flexibility.
We recommend 10-20 minute blocks at a time with 1-2 hours per week, depending on how involved you decide to be.

Only RACP members are able to enrol in the SPDP courses. If you are not an RACP member and wish to participate, please email online.facilitation@racp.edu.au.

You will need your Membership Identification Number (MIN) to register. If you have forgotten your MIN, please visit MyRACP or call RACP Member Services on 1300 697 227 (AUS) or 0508 697 227 (Aotearoa New Zealand).

SPDP1: Practical Skills for Supervisors

Important topic areas include setting the culture for learning, giving, and receiving feedback in challenging situations.


SPDP2: Teaching & Learning in Healthcare

A range of teaching strategies to manage and overcome challenges supervisors face in a complex healthcare setting.


SPDP3: Work-based Learning and Assessment

A range of topics like goal settings and learning tools, how to provide effective feedback, and make evidence-based judgments within the healthcare setting.



Buddy

Whilst the majority of each course is to be completed individually, there are a couple of activities which require you to ‘buddy up’ with someone else.
If you are already planning to take this course with colleagues, please provide their first and last name so we can ensure you’re in the same group.

Summary

Important:

    • SPDP online courses are held within a specific 5 week period and must be completed within the stated dates. There is a flexible time commitment within those dates as your schedule allows.
    • Courses are completed via the RACP Online Learning website and RACP login. We recommend using the latest, up-to-date browser as your experience may vary on older browsers.
    • Only RACP members are able to enrol in the SPDP courses. If you are not an RACP member and wish to participate, please email online.facilitation@racp.edu.au.
    • Health service or hospital firewalls can sometimes affect access to SPDP courses. Use of a personal device if logging into the course when in a workplace setting may help.
    • To complete the course to the minimum standard, it is expected that you will:
      • Participate in at least 80% of the written discussion forums by posting your reply.
      • Complete the practice activity(s) with a colleague and post your reflections.
